EVENT POLICY & CODE OF CONDUCT
Queer In The Middle is committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and safe environment for all participants. All attendees, staff, volunteers, exhibitors, sponsors, media, and venue personnel are required to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with dignity, decency, and respect at all times. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the event without refund and exclusion from future events.
Queer In The Middle is an adults-only event. No one under the age of eighteen (18) will be admitted under any circumstances.
• All federal, state, and local laws apply within the convention.
• The possession or use of weapons of any kind, including but not limited to firearms, knives, explosives, or other dangerous objects, is strictly prohibited within all convention spaces and affiliated venues, regardless of whether an individual holds a permit.
• Harassment, unsafe behavior, or any conduct that jeopardizes the safety or enjoyment of others will not be tolerated.
• If you feel harassed, witness harassment, or have any safety or security concern, report it immediately to the convention operations center. In emergencies, dial 911.
The following conduct is strictly prohibited:
• Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, or demeaning behavior.
• Offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, national origin, gender identity, or disability.
• Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome following.
• Harassing photography or recording.
• Unwelcome physical contact or attention.
• Excessive alcohol consumption.
• Illegal drug use.
• Any other unlawful activity not listed.
Rule 1: Badges
Attendees must wear their convention badge at all times while on convention premises. Badges must remain visible and be presented to staff upon request.
Rule 2: Unauthorized Sales
The sale of goods, services, or merchandise is prohibited unless you are a registered exhibitor with the convention.
Rule 3: Photography and Recording
Attendees may not photograph or record individuals without their express permission. This policy applies to all attendees, including exhibitors, press, and participants.
Rule 4: Animals
Pets and animals are not permitted in the convention space or hotel. Only service animals performing specific tasks (e.g., guide dogs) are allowed.
Rule 5: Smoking
Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping devices, is prohibited inside the Vibrant Arena. Smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas.
Anyone engaging in unacceptable behavior will be instructed to cease immediately. At its sole discretion, Queer In The Middle may remove and bar violators from the event without refund. Individuals who violate this Code may also be prohibited from attending future events. Violations may be referred to law enforcement if necessary.
Reasonable accommodations will be made in accordance with applicable law. Attendees requiring specific accommodations are responsible for notifying event staff in advance or upon arrival so that appropriate arrangements may be made. While every effort will be made to meet accessibility needs, requests cannot always be guaranteed.
Queer In The Middle and its venue partners are not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property. Attendees are solely responsible for safeguarding their belongings at all times. Lost items should be reported to and may be claimed from the convention operations center.
Attendees are expected to maintain standards of dress and behavior consistent with public decency and applicable law. Clothing that contains hate symbols, offensive slogans, or imagery deemed obscene or disruptive by convention staff is prohibited. Attire must provide appropriate coverage of the body at all times.
